She was the exception to the era she began in, in that she was a star who was unafraid to take on unglamorous or non-heroic roles.  And because of her choices, she was able to have a long career, long after her youth was gone.  Those "Bette Davis" eyes remain to intrigue us even now, 70 years after she began acting.  Here are just a few of her many remarkable "faces":
