The old entry to the Zoo was located right by this delightful fountain and marked the start of a child's adventure.
Since the park's redesign, it is now in the center and is a pleasant place to rest.
The Penguinarium is a fun way to see the amusing penquins close up. They bullet past you, swimming in the glassed tank. One male was doing his job, protecting an egg on his feet (unfortunately due to the light, I couldn't get a good picture of him).
The Artic Ring of Life is really special. Although no polar bears were swimming. we were enjoying the sea lions as they swam over our heads.
(Was told the water isn't deep enough yet for the bears, but would be soon.)
This shows you how close you can get to them.
Wonder what he's thinking about us?
Finally, a polar bear! (Tried to get a picture of the baby, but she kept scampering out of sight whenever I had my camera finally ready.)
One of the lovely lakes and the many beautiful birds.
These capabara are big enough guinea pigs for me.
A pair of rather bored, sad looking bald eagles.
Peacocks are walking all over the park, looking for treats like popcorn.
This shows how close you can get to them.
I was tickled to get this picture of the tapir with his handler (who jumped out soon after when the tapir started biting his feet).
This elegant giraffe came when he heard the keepers at the tapir exhibit across from his.
The zebras taking a graze and snooze.
The snow monkeys form a military procession.
Yes, the peacocks are into everything. I even saw one in a bear exhibit, looking like a king over the scene.
This snow monkey must be wondering what's behind the glass. Her sweet little baby scampered off just before I could get the picture taken.
Will that be one hump or two?
You knew there would have to be: LIONS, and ...
This cute little fountain has the frogs alternating spitting at one another.
Well, you know another peacock just had to show up!!!
